What happened

Introduced in the Senate and referred to the Committee on Armed Services.

What the bill proposes

The proposal would require the Defense Department to develop a strategy for deploying and scaling unmanned and autonomous systems across the Indo-Pacific and Western Hemisphere, including capability gaps, AI integration, allied production, procurement, and supply-chain risks.

The strategy and annual briefings would be required only if the bill became law. GovInfo lists the introduced Senate version and its May 21 committee referral; the bill has not been enacted.
