What happened

Introduced in the House and referred to the Committee on Armed Services.

What the bill proposes

The proposal would direct the Defense Department to establish or designate one or more national-airspace corridors for testing and training with small unmanned aircraft, counter-drone platforms, autonomy software, sensors, communications, navigation, payload integration, and other associated capabilities.

H.R. 9909 is an introduced bill, not an enacted law. The bill has not created any corridor or authorized autonomous-aircraft operations; its proposed Defense Department program would take effect only if Congress passes it and the President signs it.
