What happened

Introduced in the Senate and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

What the bill proposes

The proposal would direct NIST to identify robotics data and supply-chain barriers, coordinate standards for emerging systems such as humanoids and swarms, and support workforce development. It also calls for federal reports on robotics adoption and greater licensing of NASA robotics technology.

These programs and reporting duties are proposed, not current requirements under this bill. GovInfo lists only the introduced Senate version and its August 6 referral.
