What happened

H.R. 7334 was introduced February 3 and referred to four House committees. Senate companion S. 4686 was introduced June 4 and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

What the bill proposes

The companion proposals would create a commission to study American leadership in robotics and recommend steps on competitiveness, national security, deployment, the workforce, and supply chains.

Neither proposal is law. The commission would study policy and report recommendations only if one of the companion bills were enacted; introducing the bills did not create the commission.
