What happened

At an October 19 State Council Information Office briefing published by MIIT on October 20, the ministry also reported more than 400 complete humanoid products and said robots are being validated or deployed across more than 300 priority scenarios in logistics, retail, food service and home services. It did not publish model-level shipment, sales, utilization or task-success data.

Why it matters

The figures provide an official snapshot of China's manufacturing scale and field-validation activity. Production is not the same as sales or sustained deployment, the 100,000-unit figure is a forecast rather than an achieved result, and the scenario count does not independently establish reliability or commercial value.
