RobotMe summary
Boston Dynamics has opened a permanent Atlas training and application-testing facility at Hyundai’s Metaplant America in Georgia. The center connects humanoid development to automotive manufacturing, using actual parts and workstations to collect training data and evaluate tasks.
The program combines teleoperation, simulation and other demonstration methods. Early work includes handling and sequencing automotive parts for assembly. Boston Dynamics says the facility builds on earlier, smaller trials, with lessons extending beyond robot hardware to packaging, fixtures and support processes. Component assembly is a longer-term ambition, with expansion planned by 2030 rather than presented as an already-deployed capability.
